A message from our Church Treasurer, Randy Snowbarger: During this time that we will not be able to meet as a group at New Hope I wanted to thank you for your continued support of our ministries through the Church Center Mobile App and/or the church website at kcnewhope.org. Several are new to this way of giving so we wanted be able to help you with any questions you might have and offer some tips to help you navigate the giving platform. You have option of adding a bank account (ACH) and/or credit/debit cards as methods of payment.
Like any business there are fees associated with online/mobile giving. You have the option as a donor to “cover” the individual transaction fees by checking a box. If you use a credit card or debit card New Hope receives the funds quicker (in about 2 days) but the fees are higher and based on a % of donation. With a bank account/ACH transaction it is a flat fee of only .25 per transaction so will save you or church proportionally based on amount of donation. New Hope receives ACH funds in 7 days (the trade off for lower fee).
The donor would be better off not to use debit card since that will come out of your bank almost immediately and the same as if you would make a bank/ACH transaction but your fee would be higher(by several dollars depending on amount).
With the credit card you would have more time to pay and get possible rewards points etc so the extra fee might be worth it on credit cards but I can’t see any benefit by using as debit card other than concerns about not wanting to give out bank info to another payment processor. And easier to get new debit card than change bank account if need ever arose.
Thanks again for your generosity during what might be some difficult times for many and you can contact me directly at 816-824-4926 if you have any other questions, concerns, suggestions etc.
