For Advent, rather than daily journaling prompts, we are inviting you to participate in a practice for the week. You may then journal about the practice itself, your response to it, any insights the practice brought up for you, etc. These practices come from Michaele Lavigne’s book, “Living the Way of Jesus – Practicing the Christian Calendar One Week at a Time”.
Scripture: Psalm 105:1-2
Advent Practice for Week 4 of Advent
A nearly invisible challenge for us, in this present day, to say yes to God’s invitation is being so distracted that we miss the invitation in the first place. Our phones have become the ever-present aid for work, connection, comparison, and distraction. Pick one day this week to go completely without your phone. Whenever you start feeling anxious, disconnected, or bored, consider those feelings as prompts to be more fully present in the moment.
Reflect on what a day away from media taught you about yourself and/or God.
Reflect on what this space away from media taught you about yourself and/or God.
